I grew up in rural Minnesota to a fairly musical family. My musical journey began when I heard The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. I was pretty young but it left a strong impression on me. I learned a few chords on a cheap guitar and was soon “performing” for family and friends. In Jr High School I started playing with some other local musicians forming small bands without much success. After High School I branched out and started to play in decent bands doing gigs around the region.
In the early 80’s I joined with some excellent musicians and formed the Prairie Fire Band. We had good success playing clubs, fairs and events that highlighted in playing on The Grand Old Opry. We went our separate ways at the end of the 80’s and I moved to the Seattle, WA area. Where I settled for several years and helped raise a family.
A quick move to current day, I’ve settled in the Tulsa, OK area and have picked up my passion for music once again. I’m now playing small clubs. Senior Centers, and private events,
My musical focus is in the Red Dirt, Alt Country genre, but I play pop, country, and standards as well.
Some of the artists I cover include: Chris Stapleton, Jimmy Buffet, Stoney LaRue, Cody Canada, Turnpike Troubadours, Jamey Johnson, James Taylor, Jim Croce and many others.
I hope to meet many of you at upcoming shows. I’m currently getting my Facebook (Jamey Alan Stotes), and websites operational as well as YouTube.
Stay Tuned……………………………
